Description

Quandela, a leader in the development and commercialization of quantum computers based on the manipulation of single photons, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated quantum information research scientist to work on the energetics of photonic quantum computing platforms. You will be part of the theory team of the Research & Development department, a dynamic and rapidly growing team. You will have opportunities to get involved in several aspects of its research, to work in collaboration with partner academic groups, to publish in leading peer-reviewed journals and to present your work at international conferences. Your role will also involve interactions with the hardware and software teams working on the development of our photonic quantum computing platform.

Responsibilities

  • Come up with a rigorous approach for computing the energetics of photonic quantum computer in the short-term regime as well as in the large-scale regime
  • Collaborate with the hardware and software teams to come up with a realistic approach
  • Keep up to date with the latest developments in quantum information with a focus on quantum thermodynamics results
  • Carry out high-quality original research
  • Publish in leading international journals and conferences

Requirements

PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or a related discipline, with a focus on quantum information science and technology
  • Experience in quantum thermodynamics is appreciated
  • Coding experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to take initiatives and to work effectively both independently and within teams
  • Oral and written communication skills
