Description

Quandela, a leader in the development and commercialization of quantum computers based on the manipulation of single photons, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated quantum information research scientist to develop new methods for benchmarking its quantum processors and mitigating the effects of noise. You will be part of the theory team of the Research & Development department, a dynamic and rapidly growing team. You will have opportunities to get involved in several aspects of its research, to work in collaboration with partner academic groups, to publish in leading peer-reviewed journals and to present your work at international conferences. Your role will also involve interactions with the hardware and software teams working on the development of our photonic quantum computing platform.  

Responsibilities

  •  Develop benchmarking techniques compatible with photonic information processing
  • Collaborate with the hardware and software teams to implement error mitigation strategies
  • Keep up to date with the latest developments in quantum information with a focus on benchmarking and error mitigation techniques
  • Carry out high-quality original research
  • Publish in leading international journals and conferences

Requirements

  • PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related discipline, with a focus on quantum information science and technology
  • Proven track-record of high-quality research in at least one of: Photonics, Quantum optics, Mathematics, Computer science, Quantum information, Quantum computing
  • Ability to lead projects, identify the relevant research directions, and propose pertinent technical questions is highly desirable
  • Ability to take initiatives and to work effectively both independently and within teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Coding experience
