Quandela, a leader in the development and commercialization of quantum computers based on the manipulation of single photons, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated junior quantum information research engineer to work on high-performance simulations of fault-tolerant quantum computing on photonic platforms. You will be part of the theory team of the Research & Development department, a dynamic and rapidly growing team. You will have opportunities to get involved in several aspects of its research, to work in collaboration with partner academic groups, to publish in leading peer-reviewed journals and to present your work at international conferences. Your role will also involve interactions with the hardware and software teams working on the development of our photonic quantum computing platform.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a full-stack simulator of a fault-tolerant quantum computer
  • Keep up to date with the latest developments in quantum error correction and related fields
  • Work on the full QEC stack of a fault-tolerant quantum computer: simulation of fault-tolerant thresholds, implementation of logical gates, design of efficient decoders…
  • Collaborate with the hardware and software teams to integrate error correction protocols in our quantum computing platform and partner academic groups
  • carry out high-quality original research
  • Publish in leading international journals and conferences

Requirements

PhD or Master’s level (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or a related discipline, with a focus on quantum information science and technology and/or high-performance computing
  • Excellent programming skills
