Lead Software Engineer – Cloud Team

Alice & Bob are a deep tech company going through an R&D stage to build the first fault-tolerant Quantum Computer. We secured 30 million USD in funding to further develop our unique technology.

We are looking for an experienced software teamleader to guide our developmenment efforts as we are preparing to onboard our first users on our technology. Your role will be to understand the internal and external requirements, work with the Product Manager assigned to this effort to make the informed architectural decisions, coordinate with the Experimental and Theory teams, and drive the development of the application. You will be the technical lead of the team

Responsibilities

• • Internal expert when it comes to architecture, designing and developing the systems allowing end-users to connect to our quantum chips
  • API definition and development
  • Service orchestration
  • Integration with partners
  • Be the technical point of contact for our relevant partners
  • Lead the team to deliver the “cloud” roadmap of the company
  • Weekly 1o1 with members of the team
  • Monitoring training and progress of each member of the team
  • Monitoring workload

Requirements

• • Strong background in backend software engineering (Python-first stack)
  • Familiarity with GCP or equivalent
  • Familiarity of DevOps type technologies such as Docker, Jenkins, Ansible etc – Kubernetes a plus
  • Solid maths and physics background, to be able to interact with physicists from the experimental team and users
  • Ability to elaborate product and technical roadmaps in collaboration with the product team
  • Proven track record building SaaS products
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Beneficial: Experience as a manager, Background in quantum physics, Knowledge of quantum computing/quantum algorithm is an asset
