Role Description


We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior R&D Fabrication Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our cutting-edge technology. As a Senior R&D Fabrication Engineer at Chiral Nano AG, you will be responsible for designing and developing new processes for the fabrication of high-performance electronic devices. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of processes involving novel materials. Responsibilities


1 – Design and Develop Nanofabrication Processes

  • Develop, optimize, and implement nanofabrication techniques such as photolithography, etching, thin-film deposition, and chemical vapor deposition (CVD).
  • Create and refine process flows for nanomaterial transfer and characterization.


2 – Characterization and Testing of Semiconductor Materials

  • Utilize advanced characterization techniques, such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), raman and ellipsometry to analyze the quality and performance of fabricated semiconductor structures.
  • Analyze material properties at the nanoscale, including electrical, mechanical, and optical properties, to ensure compatibility with semiconductor applications.


3- Collaboration with R&D and Product Teams

  • Work closely with cross-disciplinary teams including material scientists, electrical engineers, and mechanical engineering teams to integrate new materials and fabrication methods into semiconductor devices.


4- Process Optimization and Troubleshooting

  • Develop, troubleshoot, optimize, and scale nanofabrication processes for semiconductor materials, focusing on yield improvement, cleanliness, precision, and efficiency and performance enhancement.


5- Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain detailed documentation of experimental setups, process protocols, and characterization results and prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate progress to team members.


6 – Innovation and Industry Trends

  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in semiconductor technology, materials science, and nanofabrication techniques.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative fabrication methods that enhance the performance and scalability of semiconductor devices.


Your Background


A Master’s, or PhD in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, Nanotechnology, or a related field with a focus on semiconductors and materials fabrication.


Skills & Qualifications


Technical Skills

  • Hands-on experience in nanomaterials (e.g., silicon, graphene, 2D materials), their fabrication and transfer processes, nanofabrication, or materials science, preferably in a cleanroom environment.
  • Hands-on experience with nanofabrication techniques such as photolithography, e-beam lithography, chemical vapor deposition (CVD), atomic layer deposition (ALD), wet and dry etching (RIE and DRIE are highly appreciated), and thin film deposition.
  • Proficiency with tools for semiconductor characterization and analysis, including SEM, AFM, XRD, Raman spectroscopy, and electrical characterization tools.


Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills

  • You are able to analyze complex materials and fabrication processes, with excellent problem-solving skills to address yield issues and process variations.
  • You have a creative mindset that allows you to develop novel fabrication strategies.


Communication Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to team members, management, and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in writing technical reports and presenting findings in team meetings and technical reviews.


Safety and Compliance Knowledge (optional)

  • In-depth knowledge of safety protocols in semiconductor fabrication environments.
  • Familiarity with environmental, regulatory, and quality standards in the semiconductor industry.
