We are seeking a highly qualified Cloud Software Managerin our Broomfield, Colorado location. Our software team is responsible for a wide range of products that control and provide access to our best-in-class quantum computers.  This leader will support and manage a diverse team developing our Cloud and on-prem software solutions. These provide critical functionality for handling customers jobs, monitoring the Quantum Computers, and more. End-users range from experimental physicists in the laboratory to our quantum algorithm developers that use our unique real-time functionality. The ideal candidate will make supporting their team the top priority, while also being eager to contribute hands-on when the opportunity arises.

• Lead, mentor, and develop a medium-sized team of software engineers, ensuring high performance, engagement, and professional growth.
• Support the team in identifying and documenting critical information from key stakeholders, empowering them to operate independently while maintaining alignment with project and business goals.
• Manage the team’s overall workload and drive staffing plans to ensure appropriate resource allocation and team capacity.
• Foster direct collaboration between the team and stakeholders on select projects, ensuring clear communication and alignment on goals.
• Guide the team in developing and executing plans that track critical milestones, manage risks, and align with the broader business strategy.
• Ensure the successful delivery of software products, including core software services, microservices, and web applications, through effective project management and resource allocation.
• Provide technical guidance when needed, with a focus on enabling team members’ ability to work independently.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging the team to adopt best practices in software development, testing, and documentation.

• Bachelor’s Degree minimum
• Minimum 8 years of professional or graduate-level software development experience (MS or PhD inclusive)
• Minimum 4+ years of demonstrated experience leading technical teams, including task leadership and/or personnel management
• Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. person (defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status)

• Experience managing a team in a fast-growing or evolving environment.
• Proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders to define and align business needs with technical goals.
• Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration tools.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Expertise in microservice architecture and full-stack development.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including empathy, respect, and noble intent, to foster collaboration across diverse teams with varying priorities.
• A strategic mindset that enables stepping back to see the bigger picture, helping guide the team toward the best overall solutions.
• Proficiency in modern software development practices, such as CI/CD and automated testing.
• Hands-on experience with Python, Go, or other languages used in building scalable microservices.
