For this particular Project Manager vacancy with us, we need someone who has some understanding of quantum technology / computing.  You will need to be comfortable in an academic and research setting, talking to grant bearers in some detail about our products.  Our Program Manager and the rest of the team can help you with the project management stuff, but a keen interest and and ability to understand our quantum tech is something you will need to bring yourself.

The Grant Project Manager is responsible for the successful execution of Qblox’ deliverables for grants and co-development projects. Operating as part of a larger Solutions Program, the candidate will work both internally and externally with teams of R&D domain experts and other Project Managers to establish and manage deadlines, define attackable units of work, and ensure cross-domain communications. A portion of this role will also work with our Partners and Roadmap teams on tracking grant proposal progress and externally reporting out on project progress and controls. To be effective in this position candidates must possess strong interpersonal skills, with the organizational skills to enable planning, executing, and accounting for project work.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Proactively work with project team members to plan, estimate, and sequence logical units of work to ensure project success from ideation through proposal and execution. Finding logical divisions of work inside domain functions.

  • Active management of communications to grant and co-development partners, establishing clear and concise expectations and obligations, maintaining a constant eye towards agreed upon scopes of work and protecting Qblox’s intellectual property.

  • Manage the project team resources assigned to the project to deliver success on time and on budget.

  • Work with the Program Manager and other project team members to identify relevant project deliverables, adding or removing as is necessary for project success.

  • Work with the Roadmap Leaders and Partnerships team to align on external stakeholder management and long term planning.

  • Help identify risks, known unknowns, and develop risk mitigation strategies during the project cycle.

  • Ensure that product and technical requirements are maintained as the “truths” of the project.

  • Manage Jira boards, Confluence spaces, Slack channels and other communication and documentation tools as related to the project.

  • Communicate openly and often, do not be afraid to ask questions, do not be afraid to convey bad (or good) news.

  • Accurately report on the status of the project, including spending and people months, resource effectiveness and utilization, at the program and executive levels.
