Hardware integration – optical engineer / Internship

Description

Quandela is a European start up that provides photonic quantum computers that are modular, scalable, energy-efficient and accessible both on the cloud and on premise.

Our team specialises in the development of both software and hardware solutions for a variety of quantum applications. We offer a wide range of services, from developing the most efficient and brightest single photons sources, to creating algorithms for quantum computers and providing cloud quantum computing solutions.

The internship project focuses on integrating single-photon sources and detectors in the same, compact, system.

The primary objective is to prepare a small cryogenic chamber, typically used for our data-center quantum computers, and optimize the installation and design to ensure low temperatures and vacuum.

This will be done through optical, electronic, and thermal characterizations.

The project aims to enhance understanding and control of thermal factors in cryogenics, contributing to the development of more efficient and reliable systems for RF devices and cables operating in low-temperature environments.
