Head of Talent Acquisition

About the Role

As Head of Talent Acquisition, you will lead and evolve our talent function to meet the demands of fast growth while maintaining the high bar for excellence and culture that sets SandboxAQ apart. You’ll be a hands-on recruiter and operational leader, building a scalable, data-driven talent acquisition strategy that supports our business units and aligns with our global hiring needs.

What You’ll Do

  • Full-Stack Recruitment Leadership: Act as a lead recruiter for key technical and executive roles, demonstrating exceptional skills in sourcing, assessing, and closing niche and highly competitive candidates.
  • Operational Excellence: Develop and implement scalable systems, processes, and software tools to optimize the entire talent acquisition lifecycle, ensuring efficiency and consistency across business units.
  • Resource Planning & Strategy: Collaborate with executives and business leaders to forecast hiring needs, design workforce plans, and align recruiting priorities with medium-term business goals. Manage team budget for highest ROI.
  • Talent Analytics & Reporting: Build and maintain robust reporting systems to provide visibility into hiring metrics, talent funnel health, and team performance for executive stakeholders. 
  • Coaching & Mentorship: Grow and inspire a high-performing talent acquisition team, providing hands-on coaching and professional development for recruiters at all levels.
  • Unblocking Challenges: Serve as a proactive problem-solver, removing bottlenecks and ensuring smooth progress across complex or stalled hiring processes.
  • Global Alignment: Lead recruiting efforts across multiple geographies and time zones, ensuring consistency and local customization to attract diverse, top-tier talent worldwide.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with HR, Finance, hiring managers and external vendors to deliver a seamless candidate experience and a cohesive hiring and onboarding strategy.
  • Innovative Approach: Build long-term warm pipelines for niche roles using marketing techniques, such as CRM features in Greenhouse, webinars, events, and other long-term engagement efforts.

Who You Are

  • Proven track record scaling talent acquisition in a high-growth, fast-paced environment, ideally within deep tech or related industries.
  • Extensive experience as a full-stack technical recruiter, including sourcing, assessment, and closing talent, including at the executive level.
  • Strong operational mindset with a history of building and optimizing scalable recruiting processes, systems, and reporting frameworks.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, diagnose problems, and present actionable insights to executives.
  • Inspirational team leader and mentor, with a demonstrated ability to build and coach high-performing talent acquisition teams.
  • Skilled at navigating ambiguity, troubleshooting complex hiring challenges, and driving resolutions efficiently.
  • Experience with global hiring and managing talent acquisition in a multi-region, multi-business-unit environment.
  • Expertise with ATS platforms, talent analytics tools, and advanced sourcing methodologies, particularly Greenhouse.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be $217k – $304k per year. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This role may be eligible for annual discretionary bonuses and equity.
