Senior IT System Administrator / Senior IT Service Manager (m/f/d) in Quantum Computing Start-Up

Your role

As Senior IT System Administrator / Senior IT Service Manager (m/f/d) at Kipu Quantum your mission will be to improve and maintain our IT landscape according to the needs of our fast-growing agile company. This role will involve managing and maintaining our IT systems, providing technical support to our team, and implementing IT policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and security.


Your responsibilities

  • Enterprise Architecture: Strategic alignment of our IT landscape as well as introduction and establishment of IT Service Management
  • User Life-cycle management: Administration of user accounts, devices, permissions, access rights, and related software, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues (1st & 2nd Level)
  • Infrastructure Management: Monitor system performance and ensure the reliability and availability of our IT services
  • Security Measures: Design, implement, and maintain robust security measures to protect the company’s sensitive data and IP, including regular system backups and disaster recovery operations
  • Incident Response and Disaster Recovery: Develop and implement plans for incident response and disaster recovery in the event of a security breach or other IT-related emergencies
  • Implement projects: Drive IT projects to enhance enterprise architecture and improve IT services
  • Training and Awareness: Educate employees about best practices for effective IT use and IT security
  • IT Service Management: Ensure the continuous improvement of IT services and maintain documentation of IT systems, processes, and procedures
  • Compliance Management: Stay up to date with relevant industry regulations and compliance standards related to data security and privacy (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001)

Your profile

  • Professional training or studies in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), Network & System Administration or a related field, or comparable qualifications
  • Significant years of experience in IT project management and IT service management; Experience with methods and tools, ideally in an agile environment
  • Professional skills in IT-Network, IT-Security, Server and Database Administration, especially in Apple ecosystem (installing, deploying, configuring, and administering macOS 12+, iOS / iPadOS clients)
  • Knowledge of job automation, integration, or workflow management techniques and solutions
  • Experience with IT service frameworks (e.g. ITIL)
  • Proven experience in driving IT projects and enhancing enterprise architecture
  • Experience in the administration of MS365 environments, Okta and SSO configurations to clouds such as GCP, AWS, Azure would be an advantage
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of independence
  • True startup mindset; hands-on, driven, resilient. As we are a young venture, we all must wear different hats and contribute to different aspects of the business
  • Excellent command of English is necessary, and German is a big plus
