Alice & Bob is developing the first universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer to solve the world’s hardest problems.

The quantum computer we envision building is based on a new kind of superconducting qubit: the Schrödinger cat qubit. In comparison to other superconducting platforms, cat qubits have the astonishing ability to implement quantum error correction autonomously!

This position focuses on building and testing superconducting quantum devices and will mainly take place in a clean room environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design and fabrication of superconducting quantum circuits
  • Process development of 3D integration techniques for superconducting chips
  • Material characterization (XRD, AFM, SEM ..)
  • Setting up experimental systems for cryogenic measurements and low temperature material characterization
  • Detailed experimental characterization of superconducting qubits to quantify and identify the limiting fabrication steps.
  • Presenting and publishing the research on an international stage


REQUIREMENTS
  • MSc degree in Physics, Engineering Physics, or Applied Physics
  • Strong interest in process development and superconducting devices
  • B2 English level
  • Experience in nanofabrication and work in a clean room environment
  • Previous experience in nanofabrication of superconducting circuits will be regarded as an asset
