eleQtron develops and operates full-stack quantum computers based on trapped-ion technology. Quantum computing is a new computing paradigm rapidly approaching commercial viability. Our unique approach combines laser-cooled trapped ions with microwave control and tailored magnetic fields. Our next-generation computing machines under development will be able to find solutions to problems that are out of reach today, thus enabling new innovative products and services for a brighter future.

We are looking for an IT Support and Administrator (f/m/d) in Full time or Part time.

Responsibilities:

As an IT Support and Administrator, you will be an essential part of our team and support the IT infrastructure that enables the development, setup and operation of our trapped-ion quantum computers and relevant test devices. You will collaborate closely with our international team of physicists and engineers and ensure our technical environment runs smoothly, securely, and efficiently. Depending on your level of experience, you will work on one or more of the following tasks:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for all IT-related issues, providing hands-on support for employees at our two locations. This includes troubleshooting hardware and software issues and assisting with daily IT operations
  • Hardware and Software Deployment: Handle the installation, configuration, and deployment of PCs, laptops, workstations, license servers, and other devices within our Microsoft 365 environment. Manage software licenses for critical applications (e.g., Mathematica, COMSOL), including procurement and organization
  • IT Infrastructure Management: Administer and maintain our IT infrastructure, including network components (switches, firewalls, VPN, WLAN), servers (Windows & Linux), and workstations. Ensure reliable performance and connectivity for local and remote systems
  • Monitor and enhance IT security by implementing patches, enforcing 2FA compliance, and managing data security protocols. Collaborate with external partners to address infrastructure needs and ensure the security of our systems
  • Manage remote workstations and ensure stable performance for distributed teams. Implement specialized databases (e.g., for COMSOL or SolidWorks PDM) to streamline workflows and minimize data transfer issues between locations
  • Server and Network Optimization: Configure and maintain advanced server solutions, including reverse proxies and secure data transfer protocols (e.g., TLS). Ensure optimal network performance and efficient data management, particularly for high-demand applications
  • Forward-Looking IT Planning and Upgrades: Contribute to strategic IT infrastructure planning to support the company’s growth. Lead and coordinate IT upgrades, collaborating with external partners to ensure smooth transitions and long-term scalability
  • Software and System Integration: Facilitate the integration of specialized software tools (such as COMSOL and SolidWorks PDM) into the broader IT infrastructure. Ensure compatibility and optimal resource usage across systems

Required skills:

  • Solid understanding of the administration of small-scale networks
  • Experience in configuring and managing Microsoft 365 applications
  • Ability to lead and execute IT infrastructure upgrades and scaling projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive, independent, and solution-oriented approach to work
  • Fluent German and good written and spoken English skills
