We are seeking an Optics Engineering Intern for our Golden Valley, MN location.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Laser setup and optimization
  • Optical component testing
  • Optical and optomechanical assembly design, setup, and testing
  • Monitoring and automation within optical systems
  • Collaboration with scientists and engineers


YOU MUST HAVE:
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program
  • Graduating after December 2024
  • Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. person (defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status)


WE VALUE:
  • Individuals pursuing Engineering / Optics / Physics graduate programs preferred
  • Experience with theoretical and practical aspects of imaging and laser optics, including micro-optics
  • Experience with scientific programming languages or optical simulation tools such as Matlab, Python, COMSOL, or similar
  • Interpersonal skills: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration
  • Experience with optical design programs such as Code V, Zemax, Lighttools, FRED, or similar.
  • Experience with Mechanical design programs such as Solid Works
  • Commitment to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op
