Business Operations and Strategy Manager – AI Sim

Job Summary

This position plays a key cross-functional role within the AI Sim team at SandboxAQ spanning the Biopharma, chemicals and materials industries. You will work across our business unit to enable the success of our teams, ranging from strategy definition, financial modeling (eg P&L management) and business planning to sales enablement and customer success. This role is part of the Business team and you will report into the Business Lead, as well as working with the GM of the BU. Fundamentally, this role is designed to accelerate the growth of our BU by 1) shaping how we go to market and where (opportunity mapping / sizing) with each of our products & 2) building the business processes to deliver this growth sustainably.  

Core Responsibilities

  • Conduct market sizing, competitive and regulatory analyses and value chain mapping for our products
  • Articulate our target customer profiles by product to aide alignment between product, research, delivery and business teams that drive product innovation and company growth
  • Work with the product team to develop compelling narratives that appeal to target customer profiles and a competitive business proposals aligned with market needs
  • Support competitive analysis efforts, helping the company position itself effectively in the market
  • Run market analysis for investments and to drive internal forecasting of both top and bottom line results (both short and long term).  
  • Translate high-level strategy into operational execution relevant to multiple business lines
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights
  • Build creative and adaptable business processes and strategies to support our rapid scaling goals
  • Under the direction of the Business Lead, coordinate the company’s delivery and commercial teams to meet performance and revenue goals.

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • MBA or similar preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, or other business strategy role
  • Experience leading strategic and operational initiatives and working with and presenting to executive stakeholders
  • Experience designing and implementing business processes
  • Experience managing your own deadlines and working cross-functionally to deliver work with minimal supervision 
  • Multicultural perspective and service leadership mindset with strong interpersonal skills adept at working cross-functionally and managing relationships across diverse teams 
  • Deep understanding of market trends, competitor activities, and industry changes spanning biopharma, materials, and chemicals industries with the ability to turn them into business opportunities.
  • Track record of identifying market revenue opportunities that have been translated to business growth.
