Safe Intelligence – this forms the core brand of the Fraunhofer Institute for Cognitive Systems IKS. Connected cognitive systems drive innovation in many sectors, including mobility, healthcare, and automation in industry. What you will do

Support us in enabling reliable and robust quantum computing for industrial applications in collaboration with world-leading scientists. Contribute to realizing applications of quantum computing and quantum machine learning. Support us in this research as research scientist, actively shaping the research program. Collaborate with world-leading scientists, as well as with renown industry partners. Your results will come alive in products of leading companies, and thereby you will achieve an active contribution to a safe future.

What you bring to the table

  • Master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, physics or similar
  • A master thesis on a topic related to quantum computing is a plus
  • Knowledge in quantum computing software
  • Knowledge in AI software like PyTorch and/or TensorFlow
  • Programming experience (e.g. Python, C/C++, etc.).
  • Communication and cooperation skills.
  • Highly motivated with an independent way of working and a critical thinking mindset.
  • Good language skills in German (C1) and English (C1).

The weekly working time is 39 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis.
